New York, New York - (The Hosting News) - December 13, 2007 - A new dedicated server deal-a-day website, ServerADay.com, launched by web hosting firm, OLM.net, has reported that it has exceeded quarterly sales goals and will increase datacenter capacity by 4,000 servers to meet demand.
Initially, in October, managers of the new venture had hoped to sell 150 servers through the end of 2007, a modest goal to serve as a test of the novel, unproven marketing strategy. But to date, ServerADay.com has closed more than 250 orders, and is on pace to reach 300 servers by the end of the year, which was double the original goal.
Chris Silkman, Business Manager at OLM.net remarked, ''It has proven to be phenomenally successful, beyond all of our predictions. The site has been online for just over two months, and we have received an incredibly strong response from developers and small businesses who want to affordably make the transition to a dedicated server.''
The company has begun immediately provisioning capacity for an additional 1,000 servers in its Stratford, Conn. datacenter, to be ready in early January. By Q3 2008, the company hopes to have capacity ready for an additional 3,000 servers. All servers sold on the site still receive OLM.net's world-class datacenter features, including high quality fiber, redundant infrastructure, and physical and network security.
ServerADay.com, which is modeled after the successful deal-a-day retail sales sites, provides limited-quantity offers on dedicated servers. A new offer is posted nightly at 12:01am, and once an offer expires or sells out, it is no longer available to customers.
Dedicated servers featured on the site are typically excess stock or upgraded servers from OLM.net's datacenters. Offers on the site do not require customers to commit to long term contracts; all servers are sold on a month-to-month basis. Once a customer signs up at a certain price, the cost will never increase.
